A cross-platform app for iOS and Android: scan a package to log it, get a personal daily calorie target and track eating habits over time.
Calorie tracking breaks down on friction: searching a database for every meal, adding ingredients one by one, working out macros by hand. The client wanted an app that fills in nutrition data from a barcode, sets a personal daily target and shows progress without drowning people in numbers.
We designed the app around one-tap logging, with every screen cutting the steps between intent and action. Scanning a label takes under three seconds, a past meal is one tap away, and the home screen shows calories left, the macro balance and water. React Native keeps iOS and Android in step, and Firebase syncs data across devices. Label recognition runs on the device, with a cloud fallback for anything it can’t read.
The app holds a 4.8 rating on the App Store and passed 50,000 downloads in its first six months. 85% of users are still active after 30 days, and logging a product by scan takes under three seconds on average.
